New pre-call message for phone calls made from prisons

Changes to Covid testing for visits

Visitors to prisons will no longer be required to take Covid tests from Friday 1 April. HMPPS is making this change because regular Covid testing in the wider community is coming to an end, and testing kits will no longer be provided for free in the community after 31 March. Read more

Change of video call service

Over the next few months, most prisons in England and Wales will switch to a new secure video call service called Prison Video. This means that you will need to use the Prison Video app on your phone or tablet device to have a video call with someone in prison. Read more
